When things aren’t working, it’s time to look deeper.
You want things to change in your life but don’t know how to get there.. You’ve tried being patient. You’ve read the books, changed routines, and told yourself it’ll get better. But something still feels off, whether it’s your own anxiety that won’t shut off, relationships that keep repeating the same patterns, or your child struggling with daily life.
Sometimes we just need help generating the internal and external life we crave. I believe that early relationships in our life affect the way we think, feel, and behave towards the people we care about. It even changes the way our brains develop and personalities express themselves. But guess what? Our brain is forever making connections, so new ways of being and feeling can become our new normal! (yes, I geek out about this stuff)
My Therapy Gets to the Root Cause
My approach combines Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and Somatic tools to help you make sense of what’s happening mentally and physically so healing and change becomes possible.
Lisa Hanson, LMFT
👋🏼Hey, I’m Lisa.
I became a therapist after seeing firsthand how hard family life can get when a child or parent is struggling.
Raising three boys in three years (one with special needs) taught me what it means to feel exhausted and still keep going. That experience drives my work today, helping families and individuals find their way back to balance.
I bring over 13 years of clinical experience and advanced training in trauma integration, EMDR, and IFS. My clients describe me as compassionate, honest, and to the point. I’ll help you make sense of what’s happening and get you unstuck.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
I’m not the “just talk about your feelings” kind of therapist.
I’ll tell you what’s working, what’s not, and what to do next.
Therapy with me is:
Down to earth - Sessions with me are usually not what people picture when they imagine a therapist. I think that’s a good thing.
Collaborative – We’re a team with a shared goal.
Direct – You’ll leave each session with insight and clear next steps.
Grounded in Experience – I’ve raised three sons, worked in schools, and helped hundreds of families and adults over 13 years in practice.
We’ll figure out what’s driving the problem and create a plan to to help you graduate out of therapy.
